Queeres Zentrum Tübingen (QUZ) will host a screening of Queer Cinema for Palestine (CQP) as part of the global “No Pride in Genocide” collectively curated short film program on the 11.06. at the QUZ, Derendinger Straße 41.
CQP is a global film event co-organized by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and hundreds of partners, from Kathmandu to Quito, from Hiroshima to Tbilisi. CQP includes more then 300 screenings in 60 countries in 20 languages hosted by queer, solidarity, activist, Indigenous and arts organizations, Pride events, film festivals, independent cinemas, university departments, and libraries.
This event is organized in collaboration with the “Unikommittee für Palästina” and “Gemeinsam Hinsehen” and there will be short introductions by speakers of the organizing groups.
Taking place during Pride month in many countries worldwide, the fourth edition of CQP aims to expose and fight Israel’s pinkwashing of its atrocities against Palestinians, including Israel’s ongoing Gaza genocide, and highlight a growing number of queer networks and Pride organizations ending complicity in Israel’s crimes. This year’s 60-minute program focuses on the work of queer, Palestinian, and allied artists, in historic Palestine, across the diaspora, and beyond. The program features a diverse mix of identities, lengths, styles, and genres (doc-hybrid, experimental, fiction, and animation) to highlight the key role of art in resistance and the struggle for liberation.
From Germany to South Korea, Turtle Island to Pakistan, Italy to Mexico, hundreds of CQP partners are saying, “There is no pride in genocide.”
